Just Lazing About

What do you do on a hot Mexican day with no wind?
Let Debbie drive and allow Lynn to relax on the foredeck.

Dingy Tug Boats

On a recent trip to Stone Island friends on their boat had an over heating problem or a under cooling problem depending on your point of view..... After sailing as close as they could get to the anchorage it was the dingy tugs to the rescue to move the boat the last bit. That is Lynn being the push tug on the stern of the sailboat.

Birds

Six of us joined a very expensive bird tour out to a new tourist spot an hour out if Mazatlan. We left our boats at 5:30 am, returned around 4:00pm. We were also accompanied by about eight true birds who got very excited when ever a bird was spotted. Plus the knowledge they shared with us helped us to enjoy a rather long and very hot day. According to one of the birds we saw 26 birds, in my mind some looked just like house sparrow. Here is a couple of not great shots of what we saw.

Fishing

This is what the fishing is like around Mazatlan.

Who Does This Camera Work Anyway

Our friend Rohalio asked Lynn to explain how or operate his camera, not sure if the communication was a success or not as we did not get to see the final product.

What's Happening

Well it has been a little over a month since getting back to the boat. We had the boat hauled and bottom painted. The paint was getting a little thin, since it was last done two years ago. It was painted shark white and is so bright the diver is going to need to wear sunglasses when cleaning the bottom. Our outboard is waiting for parts, and we had the Honda generator serviced by Honda for about $26 Canadian including parts. All else seems to be working fine.

A lot of news both correct and incorrect on the issue with boats being impounded ,but is causing a lot of visits to get a new Temporary Import Document. In Mazatlan it is 20 minutes and about $750 pesos. From some of the current emails it seems that progress is being made but when dealing with government processes in any country it can take time and be very frustrating.

Just to make sure we still know how to sail the boat we spent today sailing off the Mazatlan waterfront. The weather is in the 25 degree range and much warmer then in the past two years. Some are even complaining it is to hot.

And in conclusion Lynn's golf game still sucks.

How to tell if your boat is impounded in Mexico !!!!

This notice was seen recently on a boat in El Cid Marina, who says the locals do not have a sense of ha ha.
